Each year, the Southwest Iowa Association of REALTORS bestows the title of REALTOR of the Year to one deserving individual. NP Dodge Real Estate is pleased to announce that Dan Van Houten, manager of the NP Dodge Council Bluffs and Iowa offices, received the honor at the annual Inaugural Gala Friday night at the Council Bluffs Country Club.
Criteria for the REALTOR of the Year award includes service to the real estate world, involvement in the southwest Iowa community and more. A committee of the previous five winners of the award help to decide the winner.
Van Houten?s been the broker at the NP Dodge Council Bluffs office since 1994, overseeing about 60 agents. The Council Bluffs native entered the business in the 1980s. Dan graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1976, and has been married to his wife, Diane, for 21 years. He has four children and two grandsons.
Also at the event, Mike Allmon of NP Dodge was sworn in as president of the association for 2012, Dianna Dieatrick of NP Dodge as the new secretary treasurer and added new directors Marge Leaders, Ryan Powell, Kellie Naylor and Elaine Jacobsen, all from NP Dodge Real Estate.
